Boot camps are basically institutions which are both privately and governmentally owned. The principles and rule of the institutions are strict military based and offer shock incarceration to change the behaviour by modifying them correctly. Boot camps for boys generally offer different programmes such as quick fix solutions, which help the children and teens regaining their behaviour as their parents have lost control over them. The institution offers 97% parent satisfaction and improvement results and claim to scare the kids straight. The other name provided to these camps are tough love wilderness camps which are specially focused on those kids who have gone out of control of their parents and behave in a rude attitude and manner. The whole decision is of the parent s and teens are not involved for any kind of consent. Recently most of the boot camps also offered different training and rehabilitation programmes so as to benefit the child with proper career counselling and providing special programs. 

Boot camps for boys were fir held in 1983 in Oklahoma, United States. Earlier these camps were harsher and tougher than probation but are less restrictive than jails. In some of the countries these camps were even band due to its evil acts and methods of behaviour modifications. In 2006, the camp was banned in Florida as a student died in the camp due to abidance and threat. In some of the states the camp is offered to the first time offenders where in other state a youth can also be send to this camp in place of jail.  The 90 to 180 days of time period can balance the prison sentence of up to 10 years whereas in other countries the rules are different. In New Zealand the boot camps are used for rehabilitating the drug addicts. The camp offer strict punishment to those with different mistakes and offences or if their parents enrol them due to their behaviour.
